New Course – ECED 480A

The Early Childhood Education program is pleased to announce a new course offering, ECED 480A, starting in January 2020:

ECED 480A: Infant and Toddler Programming: Establishing a Positive Learning Environment

3.0 Credits | Winter Term 2 (January 6 – April 8, 2020)

This course explores infant and toddler learning environments, with reference to research on early childhood pedagogy, theories of early learning, curriculum trends and practices, theories of place and space, and with a focus on the role the environment plays in very young children’s learning experiences.

Topics include: multiple networks of the child, relationships and peer mentorship, daily routines, the outdoor and indoor spaces, ordinary moments, infants and toddlers as leaders in learning, inquiry and project-based approaches, and play.
